Cheers!

I had a fabulous time at the Canine Cocktail Pawty. Lots of well-dressed people and fun dogs mingle and enjoyed the evening for a good cause -- Animal Haven, a pet shelter and sanctuary in New York.
I hear there's going to be a Canine Cocktail Pawty in the fall. Kudos to Jenna Gates, organizer of the NYC Shiba Inu Meetup, and everyone who made this cocktail pawty such as success. I can't wait to attend the next one. Stay tuned!

Cocktails Anyone?

The other day, I wasn't paying attention and my pup Roxie managed to stick her nose in my drink and she sneaked at least one slurp before I grabbed it from her! Yuck!
While I don't ever want to share a cocktail with my dog again, I was recently invited to a unique party that allows you to mingle and drink with your canine in tow.
It's called the Canine Cocktail Pawty and will be hosted by Jenna & Snickers of The NYC Shiba Inus. Please join them for an evening of people socializing and canine off-leash carousing! What a charming idea!
Proceeds from this event go to benefit Animal Haven, a no-kill animal shelter and pet sanctuary in New York City. Everyone is invited regardless of pedigree.
To RSVP, kindly e-mail Jenna: dogs@nycgadgetgirl.com by March 12th. Tickets must be purchased in advance. For more details, visit: http://shibainu.meetup.com/101/
Cheers!

Petco is the perfect spot to celebrate too. Come out and decorate your own Valentine’s Day Pet Cookie, get a FREE Valentine’s Day Photo with Frame and enter the Best Pet Kiss Contest at 2:30 pm. It’s all for the love of your life ... your pet! Visit Petco to learn more. Participating locations include, Long Island, Yonkers, and Brooklyn.
OR
If your lucky enough to be a lovely Shih Tzu, then check out the NYC Shih Tzu Meetup and their love-themed playdate appropriately named "And they call it Poopie Love!" at Animal Haven Soho. Fern is the organizer of the group and will be playing host. An RSVP is required.
Here's more from Fern about the Shih Tzu festivities...
It's a post-Valentine's Day lovefest!! Bring your little ones for socialization, games, and perhaps he or she will fall in love! Red is the color of the day, and doggie love will abound.
We will be playing "matching" and "love" games with the dogs. We will even be having "commitment" ceremonys for the pups. Please bring a Valentine's toy or goodie if you want to participate in our "doggie grab bag" where the dogs will pick the toy they want and then be set up with the giver of that toy.
And not to leave the dog moms and dads out of the fun, we will have wine and cheese and crackers.
Awww, love is definitely in the air! Or is that dog poop I smell? hahahaha!

Are You Ready for Some Football?!!
This afternoon, I had the playdates of all doggie playdates called the Super Dog Bowl -- Schnauzers vs. Boston Terriers at Animal Haven in Soho, a no-kill shelter/playspace. It was awesome!!
My friends and fellow doggie playgroup organizers Karen, Savannah, Jennifer and I hosted the event and I believe it was truly a 5 star event. We had games to entertain the dogs and humans, including treat-eating, fastest tricks in 30 seconds, and dog racing, to name a few.
Sadly, the Bostons beat the Schnauzers by a nose. So, they will have the bragging rights of Top Dog for the time being. The Schnauzers won't go home defeated, no!! We will rise up and beat those furry munchkins at the next playdate!!
In the meantime, here's a few highlights of today's snout-to-tail action. Enjoy!
